Offline Processing
PDF unlocking happens on-device. Your files stay under your control on your own storage.
This Privacy Policy explains how Unlock PDF handles information when you use the app. The app is designed to work offline, does not show ads, does not upload your PDF files, and does not use your documents for tracking, marketing, or profiling.
Unlock PDF is a lightweight offline PDF unlocker that helps you remove passwords from PDF files when you provide the correct password. The app supports unlocking, opening, sharing, renaming, deleting, and locally viewing previously unlocked documents through its history feature.
We designed the app with a privacy-first approach. Your PDF files, passwords, and document contents are processed locally on your device and are not uploaded to our servers. The app does not include third-party advertising or analytics used for marketing behavior, profiling, or cross-app tracking.
PDF unlocking happens on-device. Your files stay under your control on your own storage.
We do not collect your document contents, passwords, contact information, or advertising identifiers for marketing.
The only third-party service used is Firebase Crashlytics for app crash and stability reporting.
To improve app reliability, the app uses Firebase Crashlytics. If a crash or serious error occurs, Crashlytics may process limited technical data such as:
This data is used only for diagnosing bugs, improving stability, and maintaining security. It is not used by us to identify you personally, serve ads, or build a marketing profile.
We do not use your information for behavioral advertising, selling data, or automated profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Your PDF files and passwords are not uploaded to us.
Limited technical crash diagnostics may be processed by Firebase Crashlytics, a Google service provider, solely to help us monitor app stability and fix issues.
If you choose to open, export, or share an unlocked PDF using another app or service on your device, that transfer is initiated by you. The receiving app or service will handle the file under its own terms and privacy policy.
Files, passwords, and history data used by the app remain on your device unless you delete them. Crash diagnostics retained in Firebase Crashlytics are kept only for as long as reasonably necessary to investigate, prevent, and resolve app issues, subject to Firebase service settings and applicable law.
Where the General Data Protection Regulation or similar laws apply, you may have the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or data portability regarding personal data processed about you.
Because the app operates mainly offline and we generally do not receive your PDF files, passwords, or document contents, many privacy requests may be limited to crash diagnostic data, if any, associated with the app's technical operation.
Our legal basis for limited diagnostic processing is our legitimate interest in maintaining app security, stability, and performance, and where required, your consent or device-level permissions/settings.
If you are a California resident, you may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act and the California Privacy Rights Act, including the right to know, access, correct, or delete certain personal information, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California law.

To make a privacy request, contact us at support@pdfstudio.com. We may need enough information to understand and respond to your request.
In accordance with the California Online Privacy Protection Act, this Privacy Policy describes the categories of information we process, the purpose of processing, and how users can contact us regarding privacy questions.
The app does not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals because the app does not engage in cross-site or cross-app advertising tracking.
Because Firebase Crashlytics is provided by Google, limited technical diagnostics may be processed on servers located outside your country. Where required, such processing is subject to appropriate safeguards offered by the service provider and applicable law.
This app is intended for users age 16 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app. If you believe a child has provided personal information in connection with the app, please contact us so we can review the issue.
We use a privacy-focused design in which document processing happens locally on your device. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we aim to reduce privacy risk by avoiding file uploads, ads, and unnecessary data collection.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect app improvements, legal requirements, or operational changes. When we do, we will update the effective date shown at the top of this page.
